How to start a Community

Communities are persistent professional spaces for ongoing conversation. They are intentionally simpler than Slack or Discord: a stream, replies, mentions, and community rooms.

Steps

  1. Go to Communities and tap Create Community.
  2. Choose a name, description, and photo header that reflects the group.
  3. Set the community to public (discoverable) or private (invite or member-request only).
  4. Owners and admins can pin messages, moderate posts, and start rooms under the community.
  5. Members can post messages, reply, mention others, share files, photos, and GIFs, and react.
  6. Community creators have limits: 2 communities for free users, 5 for Premium.

Community rooms and recordings

Owners and admins can open public or member-only audio rooms under a community. If the community creator has Premium, completed recordings from those rooms can be accessed inside the community.
